Stronger, Part 4
You have been given everything you need to not only survive, but to thrive.
Ephesians 1:18-20, I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called–his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incomparable greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Matthew 16:22
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!” Matthew 16:23a.
You are a stumbling block to me…
Matthew 16:23b.
“…you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:23c.
Sometimes the pain is part of the plan.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24
“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it…”
Matthew 16:25a
“…but whoever loses his life for me will find it.” Matthew 16:25b
“What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:26
“For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.”
Matthew 16:27
Romans 6:13 (NLT) Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Romans 6:22 (MSG) But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way!
Any pain God leads you to will unleash His plan through you.
“He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39 NLT).
