After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.
Joshua 1:1-2
I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you… 5 No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live.
Joshua 1:3-5a
For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.
Joshua 1:5b
It’s not about our abilities but God’s presence.
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Joshua 1:7-8
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16
When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand.
Joshua 5:13
And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”

“No…”
Joshua 5:14a
And he said, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the LORD…”

And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”
Joshua 5:14b
The most important question is not, “Is God on your side, but have you joined up with his mission, his agenda?”
Joshua 5:15, The commander of the LORD’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did as he was told.
Joshua 6:1-2, Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in. 2 But the LORD said to Joshua, “I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors.
The only ingredients needed for victory are the courage to keep trusting that God and taking the next step.
When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could.
Joshua 6:20
shouted- ruah. battle cry, shout of triumph.
Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.
