Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Matthew 22:34-36:
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37
This is the first and greatest commandment. Matthew 22:38
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
You can’t love God fully unless you love your neighbor deeply. And you can’t love your neighbor fully unless you love God deeply.
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 1 John 4:20
Galatians 5:14, The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Big Idea: Be the best neighbor your neighbor has ever had.
if the mission of Jesus is to go forward it is to go forward through you.
As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21
